Now that you created a shortlist of influencers you want to work with, you’re ready for the fun part: brainstorming engaging content that’ll encourage their followers to check out your brand. (If you haven’t already, make sure to check out this quick guide on how to get started with influencer marketing!)
Whether it’s you or them who’s doing the legwork of content creation, you’ll want the posts to appeal to their followers. Though most influencer posts are (or at least should be) tagged with #ad, the differences between an overly sales-y sponsored post and one that truly drives engagement are huge.
Without further ado, here are some ideas to get you started. Check off the ones that make the most sense for your brand!
✅ Social media shoutouts. One of the most obvious ways to leverage influencers is by paying them (or providing free products) for a social media shoutout. Combined with other content types, it’ll help instill a sense of familiarity with your brand.
✅ Blog post reviews. This two-for-one content type allows you to tap into the influencer's network and conduct product testing to generate social proof.
✅ Sponsored YouTube videos. By sponsoring a relevant video on an influencer’s YouTube channel, you can incorporate more branding and a stronger CTA into your message (especially compared to short-form social videos).
✅ Branded hashtags. Use influencers to promote a campaign hashtag — it’s as simple as that.
✅ Affiliate promo codes or ambassador programs. Rather than pay influencers a flat fee, inviting them to participate in an affiliate program makes them more invested in your brand’s success.
✅ Social ads. Featuring a famous face in your ads helps you boost return on investment (ROI).
✅ Branded contests and giveaways. By partnering with an influencer to launch a contest or giveaway, you’ll drive a lot more engagement and excitement.
✅ Product tutorials. Instead of just telling their followers to use your products, influencers can show them your product in action. It’s a lot more authentic and personable.
